Taking good care of your home can save you a lot of time and trouble when the time comes to sell. There are always nooks and crannies that you never remember until you have to, but I’ve found that people keep up with small cleaning chores are much happier than those who put it off. So I’ve looked around and compiled a thorough but do-able list that should help maintain your home’s natural shine.
Start with the Kitchen
- Mop the floor (you’ll be glad to do this often, it makes it much easier)
- Wipe the exteriors of appliances
- Wipe the counters and cabinet doors
- Scour the sink and wipe the hardware
- Dust light fixtures
Move to the Bathrooms
- Use a spray-cleaner or vinegar-water solution to clean sink faucets and bathtub hardware
- Use a disinfecting toilet bowl cleaner
- Clean shower/tub with baking soda to remove grime
- Empty trash bins
- Wipe mirrors
- Dust all shelf surfaces and hard-surface furniture
